Our homestay families undergo rigorous security checks to ensure a safe environment. Moreover, we ensure that each student's cultural background is respected and accepted. Our homestay families treat students not as customers, but as valued family members. Maria, a student from Colombia, says: "Homestay has helped me by giving me a real view of Canada and advice about Canadian culture." Cindy, a student from Hong Kong, says: "If I have something that I don't understand, such as homework, projects, questions, or even grammar, I will go ask my hosts, and they are happy to help me." |

Work Internships & Volunteering
We encourage our students to take a work internship or volunteer while studying with us.
Students usually study for a minimum of two months and then join a work internship program. Students are able to gather experience and knowledge that will be especially helpful to learn about various careers. The most popular placement fields include banking, media, accounting, general office, IT and tourism. Students usually volunteer after school or on the weekends. Students typically volunteer in Senior Centres (retired Canadians), YMCA (with children), hospitals (working with patients), SPCA (working with animals) or in the business field they are interested in. |
Taking a work internship or volunteering in the local community offers students numerous benefits, including the opportunity to:
- Achieve natural English fluency in real-life situations. - Boost confidence in English conversations. - Cultivate friendships with Canadians and expand social circles. - Deepen understanding of North American culture. - Acquire and refine a valuable new skill. - Utilize and enhance existing language abilities. - Experience the fulfillment of making a positive impact. - Gain valuable work experience and obtain references. |
TOEFL & TOEIC
The TOEFL® Institutional Testing Program (TOEFL®ITP) and TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) are internationally-standardized English proficiency tests that offer students the opportunity for convenient, affordable and reliable assessments of their English-language skills.
The TOEFL® ITP is a paper-based test that evaluates language proficiency through three sections: Listening Comprehension, Structure and Written Expression and Reading Comprehension. The TOEFL® ITP score ranges from 310 to 677. Over 1,200 schools, universities and private institutions around the world participate in the TOEFL® Institutional Testing Program (ITP). The ITP test takes 115 minutes to complete.
The TOEFL® ITP assessments share the same rich heritage as the TOEFL test — the world's most widely accepted and respected English-language assessment. The TOEFL® ITP is an effective and very affordable way for students to prepare for the TOEFL® IBT. |
The Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) is the world's leading English test, with more than 4 million tests administered each year. The TOEIC test measures listening and reading ability and takes two hours to complete. 5 million people take the TOEIC test every year.
TOEIC is a great way for students to demonstrate their English ability and include their score on their resume. The TOEIC test is a great way for immigrants to Canada to show their English ability. If you are a nurse or physiotherapist, you may be able to use your TOEIC results to meet requirements for professional licensing in Canada. |
